Pearl Crescent Butterfly

A sure sign that summer is in full swing is the pearl crescent butterfly.   They are abundant and very accommodating to photographers. 

Here is a beauty on some golden rod buds. 

Canon 60D Camera
Sigma 150/F2.8 lens
Shot at iso 400, F8

Fine image of a beautiful specimen, the goldenrod buds make a pretty perch.
You should be on your second flight of Pearl Crescents now - the first ones emerge in May.

Very fine capture. Exactly the way a formal portrait of a butterfly needs to be made. The dew really makes this special.
