It was hanging out on Black-eyed Susan petals. I tried the dorsal view first, but I like this head on view with neighboring petals for a background.

Looks best in the lightbox with a dark background.

Canon 5DM2, 180+2xTC, tripod, F11

Really nice head on view Tom --- I like the way the beetle fades into that golden glow of yellow petals, which look terrific on the lightbox.

Tom, Very cool and looks menacing. Great focus for the face and those antennae add to the appeal with the curves.
