This is one of the first mayflies that we see here.    It is quite small.     Mayflies hatch in a sub imago form which tend to have dark blue colored wings.  This is true of many mayfly species. 

Olympus EM-1,60mm macro,  1/40 f10, Iso 400

Fine image - not a setting I recall seeing for a newly emerged mayfly before. Nice natural history info as well...

Hi

A fine shot of this little fellow and a good job of getting close enough for a frame filling look, an aspect that was probably not easy using that short focal length and hence short working distance

really great shot of one my favorite creatures...Trout find them irresistible and hopefully the many imitations I tie to fool them.(strictly catch and release)
