Pretty bloom, nice angle of view, nice detail at the center. The bright areas in the background are somewhat distracting.

Hi

Cool looking flower and a nice view of it, although like Tom I find the upper sky areas a little distracting to the image as a whole. Perhaps at shooting time you could have found an angle that eliminated the sky areas, although I would this may have brought more elements into focus lower down around the bloom. Still a nice image to see, I often struggle to imagine cacti growing wild, over here they are regarded as a greenhouse plant

All the best
Matthew

Thanks - yes the bright spots are a bit distracting - but I do have a few that are somewhat softer. This was a little higher than I am so it was a bit more difficult to get a good angle. There are other blooms will pop out that are different angles.

I have to agree with Tom and Matthew about the bright bg but its still good to see different species that we will never get growing wild over here!
