Dolophiloides Caddis

This is more of a natural history post.    Last week it snowed pretty heavily once again (seriously, this needs to stop).    Anyways, the snow revealed something that I had not seen before, this form of caddis fly mating on the edge of a small stream.

The females of this species are often flightless, look like a large ant,  and have no wings (right side).

Fine behavior image - a nicely composed pair. Sorry about the snow - a bit here, but it melted quickly, at least.
