Hi

I like the composition and the subject matter is certainly splendid – lighting wise I like the out of the box approach but I do find the lighting inconsistence along the perch areas, rather harsh upon the upper leaf and almost nonexistent upon the lower emerging one – so for my tastes I would prefer a little more balance to the overall lighting look. But having said this I love that you are capturing an image that is slightly different and one that shows imagination playing a strong role – so overall a very appealing look / image that shows off this beautiful lass and lady to good effect

All the best
Matthew

I agree absolutely! Thing is that I was so thrilled finding these moths (female emerged less than few minutes before I found her and the male joined within 30 minutes after she emerged) that I just didn't think about lighting at all :) And it was the first time that I have encountered this species!

I think the dramatic lighting adds a nice mood to this fine behaviour capture!

Hi again

Well I can see remember the first time I saw one – so I can relate to your excitement. They certainly are a wonder to see, perhaps I will try to dig out an image of one from the depths of the pc (laughing)

Here’s hoping you see plenty more this year

All the best
Matthew
