Already know much of Geres, and on my last visit there i took the time to explore a little better Vilarinho das Furnas area. Because the last winter wasn`t much rainy, the dam's water level dropped considerably, which allowed me to see part of the ruins of what was the ancient village of Vilarinho of the Furnas and took me to a small stream that runs down the mountain, forming small pools until you reach the dam itself.
This is where I focused my energies, the scenery is breathtaking with the stream to flow into the mountain. The Geres will never stop surprising .. it`s definitely one of the most beautiful spots of Portugal (National Park Peneda-Geres). |
