"A New Chapter"
One from two years ago during an autumn trip to the Adirondacks. I loved the intensity and warmth of the light bursting through the fog, as well as the little bits of dew and distant spiderwebs backlit like little gems. It was a good morning. Thanks for looking!
Techs: Canon 50D, Canon 70-200 f/4 @ 135mm. 1/40 second, f/13, ISO 100. Polarizer. Tripod.

I like the rays of the sun shining through the fog and the contrast keeps nicely fills out the frame!

It's hard to make this kind of shot work-you did well, I think. It's a beautiful scene, well composed. I wonder...what if you increased the contrast just a touch...?

Nicely done, Chris. Those rays are well controlled and a very strong element balanced with the shadows.

Good morning Cindy. Thanks for the critique! I struggled for quite some time increasing and then decreasing the contrast until I found a place that I found suitable. When posted online, compared to the other contrast-forward images so often seen, I too felt that I might want a bit more contrast as well. However, I think that presented as is, the hazy, luminous quality of the light is allowed to stay visible.

Thank you, Steve. I am very happy with the rays ... they were necessary to balance out the composition.
