Feel free to move to Digital Art if this crosses the line.

The moon in eclipse totality is really cool on it's own, but I feel is best viewed when in context of the entire event.

C&C welcome!

Beautifully done Chris! No problem with this in Landscapes and we have had several similar over the years - and this is up there with the best.

Wow -- I love the composite! You made this a piece of art! I love the juxtapositions you created here!

Interesting to see how much the moon rotated during that time.

The moon was almost totally eclipsed when it rose here in the west, and there were fingers of high clouds that discouraged me from shooting it as it came out. (Have done that before.) So I just went for the Main Event. This makes me wish I had hung in there!

Nicely done! In Northern MN we had clouds cover the eclipse as soon as it hit about 1/3, never saw the moon again!

Wow, thank you all for your kind words, and thank you for the EP! I should have mentioned in my post just how remarkable the transformation of the entire night sky was during this event. At first only the brightest stars were visible, but during the full eclipse the sky was erupting with stars! Well worth standing out for 5 hours!!!! Thanks again.
