I really like the play of light in the different areas of the scene. I find the light on the trees in the foreground to be quite captivating.

There is so much to feast the eyes on in this amazing scene Jens! The different layers, contours, terrain - and then that magical light dancing through the landscape. A beauty!

Super shot, love the comp. Perhaps the processing is a little ott, but that's much easier to manage than the light and the setting with this one, of course!

The full size against the dark b/g looks great!
I really like the selectively lit areas.
Is that some processing haloing I am seeing?

No. It's moisture in the far valley and surrounding mountains. If viewed on the lightbox you can see that it has a slight pink tint from the sunlight and different density in different areas. A halo would be white or a lighter shade of the sky's blue, with an even density (fading, though). I suspected haloing myself when I saw it first, so I inspected it closely. Haloing is often the result of excessively applying clarity - 50% or more - and I used only about 15% here.

An awesome image. It could even be a bit better with some slight tweaks to the processing but it's easy to see it's ultimate potential. i especially like the subtle lighting on the trees.

@Jens;
Makes sense...it just appeared like a halo at first glance.
