Was in the Smokies for about two weeks this past spring. After days of rain the forecast called for clear skies the next day. We left early for Cades Cove to be at the front of the line of photographers who gather at the gate each morning. At first light we could see heavy ground fog was blanketing the hills and trees on the loop road. Our group skipped our usual first stop at Sparks Lane due to the crowds we had been seeing earlier in the week and headed for Hyatt Lane by the Dan Lawson homestead. Going across the field our boots were covered in frost that covered the tall grass. One of the best mornings we've had in several years.

A simple composition with lots to explore. Excellent!
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.

Welcome to NSN with a great first post.
Good comp.
I think the image could be strengthened further by cropping part of the sky.

Beautiful light and mood, I'd like to see perhaps a little less sky thus placing more emphasis on the tree and distant mountains.
