Back in 2011 my wife and I lived for a year on the coast of Asturias in northern Spain. I am sure you are familiar with the incredible coast through the work of my very good friend Jose Fernandez, a true gentleman.

These sea stacks, about 20 minutes from where we lived are very famous and the wide view of them with the waterfall flowing in to the bay is a well-known image.

I was desperate to get up close and personal with them and one summer evening, as the sun set and the tide was particularly low, we made our way out onto the layered rocks.

This is the result.

One thing worth noting - it's taken me 4 years since making this image to work it to my satisfaction! Sometimes our vision needs time to cook :-)

In my opinion you have three reference pictures of this beach, this is the third. A superlative image amigo. Un abrazo

This is just, wow. I don't know what I like more, the leading lines or the rays emanating from the horizon, or the crazy colors, or the texture. Techs please...

This is one of the coolest Asturia shots I've ever seen.  Certainly the best one that doesn't include moving water.  Just fantastic.  I want this in May ;)
To me this is the Photo of the year in this gallery so far.

Spectacular shot, Alister. I really like how you included the small window of water on the right to give some context to this seascape.

Wow -- the near alignment of lines and sun rays make this image truly spectacular. Beautifully processed by the way!

Utterly fantastic Alister!! How did you get the sky radial streaks or maybe I mean what is causing them?? I mean just a wonderful and strongly composed image. IOY material for sure!

If it would violate any of your trade secrets maybe you could share some of the processing workdone to get this beauty.

Inspirational...
