Taken from inside the crater of Lassen Volcano. The gap in the crater's rim affords a view of distant Mount Shasta, another volcano. I particularly like the early sunlight illuminating some of the rocks in the crater in glowing red, giving the impression of hot lava.

A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.

A nice bit of drama in this image. The blend of tones in the sky and the background compensates for the darker somewhat drab foreground. I might want to open up the shadow detail a bit in the foreground to produce a little balance to the image.

The warm light illustrated the volcano well and a very impressive landscape

Love how the reds give the lava a moulten look.
