Hi all,

Busy few days entertaining my 83 year old mother at our house in the north west of Scotland - she's driven off to see my other brother now!

Here's another shot from our recent June trip around Iceland - a most enjoyable few weeks and superb clients.

Like EJ said last week, I always try to look at iconic landscapes in ways that may be less obvious - not just to be different, but it's how my brain works. Being naturally inquisitive helps!

Nikon D810 and a 24mm tilt/shift at about 2am.

Certainly a different perspective on this mystical formation Alister! It doesn't grab me emotionally like some of your other masterpieces but does work the grey matter with your new take on the land where 'there be dragons'.

The interesting silky water flow in the f/g brings a refreshing view of this icon.
Also best viewed in the shadowbox.

Once again, super processing and composition.
I'm interested in the scale here. I had assumed that the rock was really quite large, but this view makes it appear quite small. A trick of the perspective / use of T/S tilt?

Hi, Thanks for the comment.

Yes, with the 24mm the stack is rendered quite small as the camera is right on top of the foreground water - literally a few centimetres.

Great composition and an amazing color palette. Needs to be viewed in light table mode!
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.
