One from Derbyshire in December

Nikon D800E / 85PC-E, tilted
ISO 100 1/30 f/16
Cropped to 16:9 vertical

Including shadows of Bracken stems.

Bold - maybe the top 2/3rds is a bit bright - it makes it quite hard to look at!

Definitely better viewed with the darker surround, and the darker repost helps. The proportions of lichen covered rock and snow is well judged!

Thanks!  Different… depends from what.  Intimitate textural views of the landscape have quite a big following I think, though I agree that they're not seen too often in this forum.

Exactly! We do not see many intimate landscapes here in this forum!
What I like here specifically are the following;
The lichen texture, the diagonals...and the contemplative result of the bracken stem shadows.
