This image developed quickly in the morning light and past just as quickly. I am always reminded how fast the light can change and an image is lost.

Wonderfully minimalistic, yet - or hence - riveting.

I have tentatively marked the Labor Day weekend for a visit to Death Valley and will definitely have good look at all your DV images posted here, for inspiration. You certainly have a good eye for this place.
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.

Fantastic lines and tonal range.

Have a good time and can't wait to see some posts. I  made 3 trips to DV and the dunes are my favorite place to shoot-i especially like the smaller dune area, less human traffic and easier to see the patterns. The morning light can produce some very nice color images. However, it seems that your window of opportunity is a bit short. Late afternoon provides a longer opportunity to explore and use the changing light.Enjoy!

September and early October are actually ideal to visit the Dunes at Stovepipe, after the heat of the summer reduced visits significantly and footprints are down to a minimum or non-existing at all. The Eureka Dunes are less visited and usually in pristine condition most of the year.

I am very familiar with Death Valley (after all, it's practically in my backyard), I just haven't been there for at least seven years because I couldn't see any new pictures anymore. However, looking at your post from that place made me realize that it's time to visit again, with fresh eyes.

Really nice lines.
Yes, I agree that it appears mildly over sharpened for web viewing though.

Nice forms you've found here - perhaps over sharpened in the background - my personal preference is for this to soften as they recede.

One of the best of the dunes I've ever seen.
