The Rosette Nebula

I'm still far down the learning curve both for equipment and processing, but having fun.  I managed to find the Rosette a couple on months ago.  Canon 7D2, 300mm f/2.8, Astrotrac.  53 1 minute exposures at ISO 1600, f/5.6.  Not sure how the 5.6 happened -- I had meant to shoot at 2.8.  It can be frustrating working in the dark...

I am awestruck at what can be captured with digital camera equipment today...with of course plenty of hard work and dedication.

Awesome Diane!  The stars look really great.  I love the slight spikes in the larger more pronounced stars.  Despite the small aperture you were still able to capture some of the faint nebulosity surrounding the Rosette.  I look forward to seeing more of your work!  Keep em coming!
