Getting to the top of Hunts Mesa is like an old E Ticket ride at Disneyland. So is getting back down. Your Navajo guide loads you into a beat up 4-wheel drive vehicle and awaaaay you go. Your vehicle bounces and jumps and stutters and bolts -- all depending on the terrain. Not necessarily for the faint of heart. There are some nice places to stop along the way. Then, as the sun starts to creep down you arrive at the viewpoint overlooking Monument Valley. The bumps and bounces quickly are forgotten as the light on the valley changes with the angle of the sunset. And, as the light fades, you get back into your rickety chariot and repeat the rough trip down. And then you want to do it again.

A view definitely worth the climb -- bumps and jostles and all!
