Canon 7D Mark II, Canon 300mm f2.8IS II, f2.8, 19sec (60 exposures), ISO 1600, Sky-Watcher, ImagesPlus, Photoshop, Lightroom.  No Dark, Flat or Bias Frames were taken.  Total Exposure time: 19 Minutes.

Please view in shadowbox.

I photographed this star cluster back in February, but decided to re-visit the files now that I have learned a little more about processing with ImagesPlus.  This new version came out much nicer to my eye than my previous version (which I did not post).

This is one of my favorite objects in the night sky that is easily visible to the naked eye.  With a long focal length and long exposure, it transforms into a stunning deep space object.

I have hardly done it justice, and can't wait until next winter to give it another try!

Mark certainly hit the nail on the head when he referred to just how insignificant we become in the overall scheme of things when confronted with the vastness of the celestial panorama, didn't he!

Another fascinating glimpse of infinity Chris, this is like an explosion of diamonds against the velvet blackness with the glowing 'sisters' the stars of the show!

Really blows the mind and excites the imagination. Maybe there is an alien photographer pointing his holoimaging device to our galaxy thinking the same thing.
