This image was taken in the Notom area near Capitol Reef NP.   It is a blend of two exposures. The first light painted, with static stars, D800e 20mm f2.8 iso1000 for 30s.  The second star trail exposure was 20mm f2.8 iso100 for 30 minutes, with dark frame subtraction.   As an experiment I wanted to see how Adobe's recent version of Lightroom handled nightscapes with their new HDR function.  See my findings on a new blog post for more information, images and backstory : Notom Window

Thanks for looking and any comments!

Really cool wade, and I appreciate the link with the writeup. You did a wonderful job merging the two images with LR and the final image is really nice!

Really nice composition Wade and perfect light painting in my opinion. I think the stars need more brightness

Great night shot with lovely clean star trails. It is a nice clean blend also - a challenging job done well.
