Desert Eclipse

My attempt at shooting the eclipse. Due to poor planning I did not see much of it because I was camping in the Anza Borrego desert and the moon dipped below the mountains soon after reaching totality. If I knew how to blend exposures I would take the in focus rocks from one image and put them into one with the moon in focus but since I don't know how to do that, this will have to do.

To me, the inadequate DOF lets this down and the moon is just a tad overexposed. I think using two exposures to focus bracket this would have been better. Having the moon dead center lets down the composition somewhat. I'm guessing this was a good learning experience and next time you will nail this :)

I agree with EJ...sadly, the oof f/g really distracts from this.
Neat image of the red moon though.
