Still sorting out images from my recent visit to Death Valley. I have been sorting based on two criteria, complex or simple. This is a" simple "selection, which should limit the movement of the eye.Suggestions always welcome :)

Hi James, nice one here! Extremely contrasty and graphic ... but that works so well here. I like the three points of dark shadow to help the eye criss-cross the frame.

Chris,
I find that this subject, the dunes, is basically a B&W subject. At times you will get some nice light ,which makes color worth while , but for the most part I am looking for a good range of tones. . I am still working on the contrast issue,is there too much or not enough. Therefore, I do appreciate the critiques offered by the folks here at NS.

Wonderful textures, and contrasts, the composition pulls it together nicely.

Hi James, another beautiful image... For my mind I would prefer the light patch a little darker midframe LHS border.

Impressive -- good choice of exposure and processing to bring out the texture.

I love those textures and the lines.
Contrast is right on for my liking...perhaps a bit too heavy for others...

Beautiful patterns! Contrast works for me in the lighted areas but I think I'd like to see just a hint of detail in the darks.
