Went out last night in the hopes of catching some color above Mt. Katahdin in Northern Maine. Well it wasn't as spectactular as I had hoped for, but still worth the effort. Usually up here when there are alerts for good Borealis it's overcast or snowing! I'll keep trying for those fantastic Icelandic colors! :)  Best viewed larger in shadowbox.

Nicely done, Mark! I would consider cooling down the white balance to get rid of the orange cast in the sky.

This is super cool Mark! What a unique twist on such an iconic Abol Bridge view of Katahdin. Was the road open or did you have to sled in?

Awesome....love aurora images.
It's been a good week for displays....either too cold or too cloudy up here though...

Very nice shot. Would definitely experiment with some different whit balance settings to evoke different moods. For me the sky where there is no Aurora seems a bit on the yellow side so a slightly lower white balance setting might give it a more natural look.

Yeah, Being a relative novice at this sort of thing I don't have a clue what the WB setting should look like. I recall that this shot was at 5600K - I thought that might be best, but obviously it'll need some tweaking (no big deal for sure). It was impossible to guess what I was actually seeing for a light source! :)

I think a much cooler white balance is needed here to get rid of the orange cast in the sky. That well help a lot! I still haven't seen the aurora. I'm jealous.
