I like dark images, but this is even dark for me! Best viewed on black!

We've had some really wild weather up here in the NW of Scotland - 100mph winds last week and a power outage for 13 hours.

Yesterday I ventured out in something less of a gale - still pushing 50mph winds and explored a little section of coast I was curious about at low tide.

Finding a sea cave for me is always a buzz, especially one with great photo opportunities. Thankfully the combination of time of day and super moody light allowed me to make this image straight away.

5 images blended manually for DOF and exposure.

D810 14-24/2.8 1/30s-2s ISO 200.

Leaves me speechless, except that I have to keep training my eyes.
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.

Powerful dark contours and textures shown to good advantage by choice of exposure.

Many thanks for your kind words Carol - it's nice to be back, I've been crazy busy this past year and had little time for socialising!

Very best regards and Happy New Year.

I like, I really like the this image. Nicely seen and excellently execute. Kind reminds me of some scene you would see in a Harry Potter movie :)

Love it for the darkness, I think it is just about dark enough. Beautiful composition and superb dynamic range.
