My second offering from Mt Assiniboine. When we were planning our trip to the Rockies I intentionally avoided looking at any images from this location, so I could experience it with clear vision and no preconceptions.

I am glad I did as it helped me avoid some of the more obvious compositions and focus on a week of discovery, which was simply stunning.

I was delighted to get this sunrise on about our fourth time up the Nub - the effort of getting there with a big pack and the ever present thoughts of Grizzlies made for a superb experience.

Single frame without grads, demonstrating just how much dynamic range modern DSLR's can handle.

On another note - pleased to say we survived a 100mph storm on the west coast of Scotland last night - but no power for 12 hours and a broken roof tile :-)

Nikon D800E 14-24/2.8 @ 15mm 2s @ f16 ISO 50.

Wise idea to avoid looking at others images from this location. I really like the composition and how you used the colors in the mid ground to lift that part of the image. Processing is spot on, it seems to be something you are revisiting (processing techniques)

WOW!

Another proof that great images are created, not taken. I particularly like how you used selective exposure to accent some parts of the landscape. A real treat to view.
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.
