Back in 2011 when I was making all the images for the Night Photography book I was often in situation where light pollution was an issue - in this case from a nearby village. The lights were magnified by some sea fog that was drifting in.

What do you do, walk away and go home, or make images that are incongruous? - I feel with this image the contrasts between stars and what looks like sunset adds a real twist to the location.

Thoughts?

Nicely inspired image. It's all about the light no matter where the source is.

The image, along with your explanation, is a perfect illustration of the difference between merely recording a scene and crafting an image. Very inspiring!
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.

That's very true Jens. In all my writing I really stress the difference between Technical and Creative Capture. Processing of course is linked with Visual Design and the Expression of Intent, while controlling the impact on the viewer.

I'm really loving the contemporary possibilities to express myself far more articulately than previously. - A golden age!
