"Approach of Darkness"
On my way home from the New River Gorge I saw the potential for a stunning sunset and decided to make my way up to Blackrock Summit in the southern portion of Shenandoah National Park. The sky to the west was completely clear, and the sky to the east was filled with clouds. Love it when that happens!
Techs: Canon 7D, Canon 10-22 @ 10mm. 15 seconds, f/14, ISO 100. Blend of two exposures.

Great colors.
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.

Nice dramatic sky Chris. I like the inclusion of the rocks in the foreground. Sometimes it's so easy to get caught up with the view off the vista that these anchor points are overlooked (pun intended?). You pulled this one together very nicely.

Neat rocks/lichen, great colors.
I like the mix of the hard f/g with the soft cloudy/misty b/g.

Really super cool. The foreground is really interesting, and the rest is magical.

I really like the fog starting up in the mountains and the depth that it creates.
