I did see the larger version and I am glad I did! It's beautiful, such detail and rich colors. I like how the tree almost comes to the ground like an umbrella affect and the lower perspective that you're showing. Nice!

This really is an amazing image; the lines and branches draw you in and the textures are fabulous. Well deserved EP.

Well framed shot here. The leaves are still a bit green, when was this taken? I ask because I am heading to the north of Portugal on Friday, and am hoping I have my timing right for beech trees (Fagus sylvatica) in Autumn colour. Asturias is not that far away I think...

Many thanks to all for the comments. Marshall, here in Asturias the right date to catch color in the beechs is very height dependent. In forests above 1000-1200 meters the best dates are in the last week of October and the first week of November. This forest has low height (200 meters) and is very near to Cantabrico sea, this picture was taken on November 15th and yes the leaves are a bit green because this year the fall was very rare here. Thanks for your comment.

Hi Jose, thanks for the info, I'll just have to take my chances. Hoping it will be a bit late, the colour is only peaking now in the UK.
Thanks and regards

Hey, Jose! Very nice image here. I, of course, love the way the branch is reaching out towards the lens. I also like the way you emphasized the slope off to the left with the wide angle. The ground, thanks to the slope, forms a strong diagonal and becomes a significant part of the composition where it normally could not have. The color looks good ... I like how everything has a kind of undercanopy greenish/yellowish "glow" to it. Well done.

Wonderful in every way. Love how it grabs me and brings me into the image.
