  Hi everyone,

Here's a photo I made earlier this autumn during a 3 day solo backpacking trip in the Cascade Mountains of southwestern British Columbia.

A small portion of the disjunct population of alpine larch trees found in the North Cascades makes it's way into BC. I was fortunate enough to live amongst them for a few days at the height of their golden colour. I had a lot of fun exploring this creek as it meandered through the subalpine, not far from my camp.

Best of luck!

I like the shape of the mountains repeated by the shape of the trees.

I absolutely love this composition. My eyes are very tired from travel but it might be that the background isn't quite as sharp as the foreground.

Nice one, Jess! I very much like the leading lines of the flowing water, though I do wish it was a bit brighter on the bottom half of the image. If those mossy boulders were bright granite, for example :D. Oh well, we can't have everything, and on the other hand, it's kind of cool how it fades from dark to bright. The midground with the brighter water and the background is absolutely perfect. The color of the larches screams fall and I like the texture on the distant ridges.

Once again, an excellent capture. I think the lights in the background and the darks in the foreground really lead the eye.

This is great. The foreground is a bit dark for me, but the comp and light on the peaks are a treat! The only thing one could wish for is more drama in the sky.
