Photo taken in late June, 2014 on the Skalli loop trail in the Landmannalaugar area of Iceland.

Though not blessed with great light on my day at this location, I still enjoyed the patchwork of snow on the hillsides.

Hey John! I really dig this one. Not blessed this great light? Well, maybe so if you are going for a grand landscape with the sky included, but this light here is just perfect to highlight the shapes and textures of the hillsides here. Way to shoot with the light you were given. I think there is always a subject and photograph to be created, no matter the light! I really like the way the green fades to gray further back into the scene. Contrast and exposure look right on, and the composition is pleasing.

I could see adding some more contrast and saturating the greens a little more. I love this image. The patterns that the snow and the greens form is amazing.

Great eye to see this scene and realize its potential. It's a real pitty you didn't have better luck with the light.
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.

Nice frame! With no light, the shot becomes shape and detail. I think you have dealt with the shapes superbly. The detail is fine also, but I would have exposed this a little longer and tried to bring out the different colours, this would add further quality to the image.
