This is a portion of the upper area of the falls. I was using a 70-200 f4 and hunting for segments of this large section of the stream.

Hi James,

First thing to get out of the way ... this one seems like it may have suffered from some crazy bad jpeg compression? How did you save this one out of photoshop? It seems like it might be sharp, so if you save it at a much higher quality jpeg I think it's going to look much better. Compositionally, I like this scene very much. Everything flows very well and the rocks provide a nice texture to contrast the smooth water. The light is what really makes the image, though. Love those highlights on the mossy rocks. One complaint is that the water is a bit too bright in the bottom middle. I'd be curious to see if you can repost this one in a higher quality :)

This image is from a previous scan of a slide. I used a saved jpeg from a previous post several years ago. This post used the old 780 pix and went up to 1280. You are right, not good.

I really like this.
Chris's comments re:compression are noted...but what I also see is a cyan cast to this that could be tweaked.

People that grew up photographically in the digital era don't know about reciprocity failure which clearly happened here resulting in the skewed colors.
