sorry guys, for my long absence - been super busy lately with no time for posting or commenting. i've been lurking around though - and seen some great images here!

i'm back with a shot from my trip to colombia earlier this year. what an awesome country...!! can't wait to go back. a) for the people and b) for the awesome landscapes you can find there.

here's a shot i took in the amazing national park el cocuy.

Outstanding! The glow inside the foreground plant adds an element of mystery.
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.

There is some dark haloing around the peak that takes away from this cool image...not sure what it may be from though...

Wow! Totally deserving of the Editor's Pick. There is so much to like about this image. First, the light. I like that you've preserved the full range of tonality from dark shadows up to the highlights in the sky. It's so soft yet directional. Love the way that it highlights the leaves of the plant in the foreground. Looks like a studio setup! I also really like how the light is still shining relatively brightly on the hill up to the right. The blue colors in the sky and the transition from bright light near the sun to dark vignette at the edges further emphasizes the unique light. Well done!
