Coast Mountains, British Columbia, Canada

Canon 5DM3 | Canon 17-40mm f/4 | Manual blend of two exposures for dynamic range

Hi everyone,

Myself and Connor Stefanison recently returned from a short backpacking trip in the Pacific Ranges just outside of D'arcy, BC. On our last evening, a distant forest fire enshrouded the expanse of peaks and valleys and we were treated to some beautiful light.

Seen from atop 8,000ft Elliot Peak.

Best of luck,

What's up Jessy Baby!

Sick shot. Love the way the rocks in the foreground lead to the sun in the middle of the frame. Normally I wouldn't like the sun in that position, but with this particular composition I think it ends up working really well. Love the rugged look of the mountains here, and the haze from the fire adds some nice atmosphere into an otherwise boring sunset. Nice!
