Ruby Beach, Olympic National Park, Washington, USA

Hi everyone,

During the month of June, I spent around a week photographing throughout Washington's Olympic National Park. The rainforests and rugged coastline here are among some of my most favourite places to visit and photograph. I was treated to some gorgeous light on this particular evening as I stood between boulders and the battering surf at Ruby Beach.

More images from this area can be found here, on my Facebook photography page.

Best of luck!

I like the way the water leads the eye through the scene. Awesome shot.

The curving stream of water in the foreground is super.

Heyyyy heyy hey. I dig it. The light has an amazing painterly quality, while still looking very natural. I like the leading lines of foams in the foreground, but the blockiness of the rock in the lower left bugs me just slightly. I might try a 4x5 ratio, cropping off the bottom, and see how that looks. Even if you don't do that ... very nice.

Thanks Kayman! I tend to agree with you on that. Definitely going to explore some cropping options, or croptions if you will.
