The latest in my series Behind the Moment

I had been reflecting on the phenomenon whereby it seems the first time you go to a new location often provides the best opportunities, the best light, and the fondest memories.

While I have been back to Yading National Park in Sichuan many times, and it never fails to amaze and inspire, that first time was a whopper :-)

Can't imagine how the light or drama could be any more impressive than this. Superb image and processing to match, Alister.

Gorgeous! Awesome light in the sky, and the extra spotlight on the peak is a great touch. The black V makes for a strong composition, too.

Magic light. It's like you brought the mountain into a portrait studio. Love it and the blog post.
