From my photo. Done in Photoshop. Defined the entire photo as a pattern. Then mostly used the pattern stamp tool (under the clone stamp tool) to dab over a gray layer. Changed brush tip and size. When selecting the pattern stamp, in the tool bar at the top choose the pattern you defined. If you also check the impressionist box, you get more variability to your stamp brush.

That's Really beautiful, Jerry! I love the texture you created-it looks like a pastel painting. The overall soft feel of this is very appealing. Nice with one foot extended too, to give a sense of motion.
