Great Horned Owl hunting in the day to get her two large owlets ready for flight. The young had already left the nest but were not great fliers yet. The parent has half a baby Robin for the second owlet having fed the first youngster.

Shot against a grey sky, this was easy to high light. B&W conversion in NIK.

The plain background makes the pattern of the feathers more prominent. Thanks for including the details Stan!

I really like this against the stark white- it looks like an etching with such fine detail. Very interesting pose, too with the head turn and wing positions. Thanks for the story too.

A great use of black and white in a bird in flight! Unique and beautiful.

Nicely done Stan! The heightened detail works really well with the intricate feather patterns against the hi-key bg!
