Taken at a flower show, this small glass cube vase had two small red flowers and a stem with tiny leaves was about the size of a fist. The background was an awful blue which I found distracting and rather ugly so I processed as B&W which always seems to have the magical ability to simplify an image and smooth out distracting backgrounds. The resulting image was OK, but looked a bit flat so I did a little filter tweaking to add a touch of blue which made the image pop.

Hi Len- welcome! That was a good idea to get rid of unwanted color. I like the blue tint. Perhaps the top stem stands out a bit-maybe crop it? That would bring out the nice soft flower even more. I like your creative thinking!

I agree with Cynthia, concentrate more on the flower. Even clone out the stems above the flower.
Beautiful blue tint.

I like the blue tint, and agree with suggestions by Cindy and Jerry.
