A wild stallion that was fighting another at the moment. Taken yesterday evening in Central NM.
Nikon D700, Nikon micro 200f4, 1/1250 sec@f8, ISO 800. Fair crop and adj. in LR to simulate a painting.

That's a wild mane. Run more sliders up to "11" :D

Getting more painterly.

You don't have to stay with the basic sliders. You can go into the other panels and move those sliders too. You may have done it here,noise removal can be used to smooth things out. And in color panel, individual colors can be manipulated. Lens correction could be used to distort instead of fix. As I said before move them to 11 and see what happens, then slide them the other way. They do not have to be used as they were intended. You can stay photo realistic or go abstract.

I did use the other sliders, but I still find it quicker to create an artsy look in Serif PhotoPlusX4. It just takes a couple of strokes. It depends on the amount of change you want to produce and the amount of time you want to spend, I guess. Thanks for your input. This is with Serif:
