The background is an in-camera blur that I then "painted" with Topaz Impressions. The Harrier is cut out of a different photo and pasted in, also "painted".

Your camera blur makes a good panning blur for the motion of the hawk.

I wouldn't have guessed this was a composite! I love the feeling of motion suggested by the bg and the harrier is just right as it rides the wind!
