Gorgeous geometric Vasanthi -- thanks much for including the details of your treatment. I like the original very much too by the way. I might be tempted to enhance the 'glassy' appearance through brightness/contrast adjustment of the spherical section. The PS Plastic Wrap filter combined at lower opacity with a variety of blend modes could give some interesting results too. As presented of course it's very nice indeed!

Very cool pattern. I like that the leaves still look like leaves. Very nice as is, but I think the center sphere could be made to stand out more. Perhaps by making it more glassy as Gary B, suggested and or boosting the contrast of just the globe.
