It has been so rainy up here that I thought this would bring some summer cheer.  Textures from Flypaper textures and Belles Fleurs.  Cropped to square.

Stunning! This doesn't just bring some summer cheer - it SHOUTS it!! When you click to bring in the darker surround this absolutely sings Jackie. I love the perspective, the wonderful, rich colour, and the square crop is perfect. Print it large, frame it and hang it to enjoy!!

I agree with Carol --- this is a very sunny, cheerful flower! I love the punchy yellow color.

Sure it brings summer cheer and warmth.

The petals look like the wind has caught them and has a nice dynamic feel.

Textures work wonderful.

I like the almost wind blown appearance of the petals too - it imparts the feeling of motion. Very nice!

Gorgeous, Jackie. I like the warm glowing colors, and the interesting play between the forward petals and the back-facing....? (don't know what part of the plant that's called. ) All the shapes are so fluid and flowing.

Very well done with the textures and the blending. The colors have a "glowing" effect to me.

I like the old biological illustration look it has.I too like the the way the yellow ray flowers seam to be pulling away from the green bracts.
