I have one little Aubretia plant and following a few warmer days it has burst into flower.

The colour is so vibrant I decided to select one tiny flower and let it SHOUT!    :D

Go, Aubretia! I think it is saying loudly...spring!!! Wonderful vibrant colors and such velvety soft petals. Love how the center radiates out with a shout. ;) No idea what an Aubretia plant is....outdoors? Looks a bit like a pansy.

:)   Yes, outdoors - a ground cover creeping plant with tiny 1/2'' flowers all over.  Great for planting on rocks, walls, containers and slopes so it can cascade down with a profusion of flowers in all shades of pink/purple/white.

I had my first snowdrop from the partially frozen ground beginning to open yesterday. Today it is under 9 inches of snow with the snow still coming down. They will still be there when the snow melts no worse for wear.

Love the dappled light and strong purple.

Let's hope it's spring. Never heard of this flower either. I love the intense shades of purple with the delicate yellow centers.

Thank you.   Yes, according to Wikipedia it is named after the artist Claude Aubriet, and any colour of the rainbow is my favourite at any different time depending on my mood. :D
