Some Rio Grande turkeys on the roost after sunset at Bosque del Apache. This shot is tweaked a bit in LR and is more artsy than a straight photograph, so I posted it here.
Nikon D700, Nikon 500f4, f4@1/13 sec, ISO 3200. It was pretty dark already.

Makes a nice composition, Joe-my eye wants to follow the shapes upward. Haven't seen turkeys sitting in trees much around here.

Not your normal xmas tree decorations Joe! They couldn't be spaced any better - what a sight!

Thanks for the comments! In all, there were about 200 turkeys (mostly gobblers) all around when I took this shot. These went up into the dead tree, while the others mostly went up into trees that hadn't dropped their dead leaves yet. It was an incredible sight.

All those turkeys - and to think we can pay $70/$80 Dollars for a turkey at Christmas time over here!  - Can you teach them to migrate?   :P

Almost like you painted it that way Joe. I like that one splash of red on the middle turkey. Did you pay them to pose?
