This bird got so close it was out of frame. Tried a b and w sketch effect using Topaz, and then masked the eye ring back in which I thought was the focal point of the image. Small crop top/right. Comments welcomed.

Very cool -- I like the body and especially the brown eye! I think vignetting out the tip of the tail and feet would look good, especially if you add some canvas all around -- of course you could always draw in feet... ;) In any event the B/W looks terrific -- very creative treatment!

Nice result on version 2 Jackie -- I like it! For a more solid, bold look you could also try inverting version 2, and maybe add a bit more canvas all around. Cool image!

Hmmm- like 'em both, Jackie. The first one is sort of surreal. The eye is cool- really looks right at you. The second one is interesting- nice to see the "bigger picture"....Both are really nice- a slight preference for the first version- an unusual perspective and that ghostly look. :)

As I have a thing about folks cutting feet off, I love the ethereal version two! The eye in both versions is so compelling and hypnotic it draws me right in! :D

Like the high key. My first thought was to add a white vignette to disguise the clipping, then I saw Gary beat me to it.
