I have been tormented by this topics for some time.
I have two books, one on Birds of Ontario that can easily be extended to Birds of North America. I also have a book on Waterbirds. Both are mostly pictures with tutorials regarding bird species.
Both of them are in pdf format and have been self published. I would sell them in person along my framed and unframed pictures on Shows and in an Art Store.
However, I have got tired of selling in person and would like to find a way to convert my books to ebooks and try to sell through some companies such as Amazon.
I just need an initial jolt to get me started.
I asked this before but did not get any specific advice just generic that unfortunatly I couldn't use much.
Any help is appreciated but some specific one would be great to get.
1. How to convert a pdf file to ebook?
2. How to contact companies such as Amazon and get their interest?

Best Regards:

Karl,

You don't have to be "approved" to sell on Amazon -- you just sign up. Check this link on publishing for Kindle: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?docId=1000234621 Here's the one for Barnes & Noble: http://pubit.barnesandnoble.com/pubit_app/bn?t=support

Good luck!

The Mobipocket ebook creator has a PDF to HTML converter. However, I have no personal experience with this product.

Blurb nows allow you to sell e-versions of your Blurb books. I self published a portfolio of my images on Blurb and bought some copies to give away as gifts. Now I have an iBook version on my iPhone to take with me on the go.
