I remember something about the ability to find how long a webpage has been up, but can't track this down.
The reason I am searching is because one of my images has been used on a commercial website without permission.
Anyone know what I am referring to?
I've already copied the web page as proof, would like to know how long the shot has been up on their site.
Thanks and regards
Marshall

Maybe try the wayback machine at www.archive.org/web/web.php

Type in the url of the page and see if you get any hits.
I don't know if this will help or not. Perhaps someone with more knowledge can chime in.

Thanks for that Joel, it seems the image has been in use since April 2009.
They are using an e-commerce website provider. Their software allows you to add your "own" image from your hard drive or use one of the providers' image.
I think my best approach will be to write to them asking where they have obtained the image, as I have no record of it being sourced and paid for, so that I can chase it up and ensure my records are up to date. Then I will see how they reply.
It would appear they have either copied the image from my website and cloned out my ©, or perhaps copied from my posting of it here where maybe the © was not included, after searching for an image on the web.

Another way to figure out how long an image may have been used on a website is by using Firefox (but it doesn't always work). Open the webpage with the image, right click on an image, select "View Image Info," select the General tab. The date of "Modification" will indicate the minimum time the image has been on the webpage (and even longer, if previously modified).

Check my article on options when you've been infringed: http://www.photoattorney.com/?p=515. If the infringer removed your ©, then you're eligible for DMCA damages, starting at $2,500.
