I admit that I am naive.  Do politicians fail us on EVERY front?   Is their word any good at all?

In a separate posting this week I brought up the Obama/Xi Jinping agreement.  I wrote that the banning of ivory by these two world leaders restores my faith that in the end, humanity will do what is right.

Now I am wondering.  Are we going to see the results that we must see for this horrible murdering to stop ?

I really would like to read what you think.  Will this agreement actually work?

How about enlisting INTERPOL to go after the criminal gangs, smugglers and corrupt officials?
Wildlife poaching has risen to the level of international crime. It has to be dealt with as such.

Thank you Paul.  And I emphatically agree.

Just googled interpol.  Here is what Wiki says about it.  I scanned it quickly.  Sounds like it fits the job…..especially since China has agreed to ban; i.e. according to a link I am about to post, China holds the key to this.  But in this link, there is a quote that says that the Chinese will not give up their right to ivory.  Well, just maybe….they will :)  The next link I post here is one year old and Xi Jinping has just agreed to ban.  If he follows through, just maybe his countrymen will follow his lead.

Please tell me how and why China has a right to African elephant ivory.
China has been increasing their influence in Africa in recent years. Corrupt officials may be letting this happen.
The crimes are international and most of the elephant countries do not have the criminal justice system to adequately fight today's poaching crime.
