This just sickens me if the article is correct. Right now Oregon and Washington seem to be the only welcoming States for wolves (albeit with court action to prevent USFWS from killing packs). So far, Oregon's non lethal protections seem to be working pretty well. One thing discovered is that not killing the alpha pair of a pack usually keeps the pack together and less trouble than killing them and letting the rest of the animals go willy nilly out in the countryside killing everything.

As I said earlier, USFWS gave up on hiring biologist in lieu of hiring administrators and politicians.
