And this from the Center for Biological Diversity:

http://www.biologicaldiversity.org/news ... -2015.html

an excerpt from the link:

“Republicans seem to introduce crazier and crazier legislation just to establish their Tea Party credentials for their favorite funders — the Koch brothers and the American Petroleum Institute,” said Hartl. “It’s sad that they continue to attack our most vulnerable endangered wildlife rather than trying to find solutions — such as fully funding endangered species recovery activities — to benefit our environment and our wildlife. This latest spectacle in the Senate looks to be just the first of many wasted opportunities over the next two years.”

The Endangered Species Act of 1973 is the Holy Grail of wildlife conservation legislation.  To devout conservationists, the ESA of 1973 is sacred.  It is to me.  This is my planet too!  The ESA must not be weakened in any way.  it will not be weakened in any way.  The fight shall begin….again!!!!!

"Republicans say they want to improve the law so that it simultaneously is less of a nuisance to landowners and users and it better protects animals and plants"

Wow. The sad part is that there is a large percentage of voting Americans that believe this stuff.
If politicians want to keep such species as the greater sage grouse off the Endangered Species List they need to start setting aside large parcels of land. It's not rocket science. Healthy wildlife populations need healthy habitat.

Folks,

Just a gentle reminder, politics and religion are not appropriate topics.

Thanks for pointing that out Paul, though IMO it's politics none the less. :)
